About the Company:

“Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings plc” is a luxury vehicle manufacturer founded by Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin in 1913 in Gaydon, Warwickshire, England as Bamford & Martin Limited.
Both Robert Bamford and Martin came up with the idea to manufacture their own vehicles. They manufactured their first car and named it ‘Aston Martin’ in 1914 because Lionel Martin successfully completed a race in Aston Hill near Aston Clinton.
In 1947, post World war David Brown, an English industrialist bought Aston Martin and boosted up the sales of grand touring cars of different models. It won the prestigious ‘Game Changer’ award for its DB11, in 2017 Autocar Awards. ‘New Vantage‘ won the ‘Design of the Year’ award in 2018.

About the logo:

The logo of Aston Martin has been changed many times in the last century. The ownership of the company has been transferred multiple times from one person to another.

The First logo:
.
The very first logo of Aston Martin was the initials of the two words i.e., ‘A’ and ‘M’ in uppercase overlapping each other inside a circle. It was introduced in 1920 and was continued until 1926.

Second Logo:
.
The second logo was introduced by the company in 1927. They discarded the initial logo and introduced a new “wing logo”. The wing logo has been borrowed from the logo of Bentley and it represented speed for which the company is known. The wordmark was placed inside the wings.

Third logo:

The company upgraded the previous wing logo and relaunched it in 1930. A sharper look was given to the new logo.

Fourth logo:
.
Aston Martin launched a brand new logo in 1935 and made the wings straight. The wordmark was placed in the centre of the wings.

Since the introduction of the straight wings logo, the company is using it till now but keeps on relaunching it with slight modification.

Fifth logo:

The fifth logo was introduced in 1947 after the English industrialist David Brown bought the company. After modification, the logo was relaunched and his name was placed above the wordmark.

Sixth logo:

In 1972, the ownership of the company was changed and thus a new logo was introduced.

Current logo:

The current logo was launched in 1987 and is still being used. A green rectangle box is placed above the white wings. These colours signify qualities such as elegance, prestige, uniqueness, originality, excellence and environmental production of the company.
