About the Company: Reliance

Reliance is an Indian multinational conglomerate company that works in various sectors such as telecommunication, retail, energy, textile, natural resources and petrochemicals. The company was founded by Late Dhirubhai Ambani in 1973 and is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
The actual company was co-founded by Dhirubhai Ambani and Champaklal Damani in 1960 as Reliance Commercial Corporation in Naroda. Later in 1965, the partnership between them ended but Dhirubhai continued the business. In 1966, Reliance Textiles Engineers Private Limited was established in Maharastra and later in 1973 the company adopted the name “Reliance Industries Limited (R.I.L.).
Currently, Mukesh Ambani, elder son Dhirubhai Ambani is the Chairman and Managing Director of the company. Under his leadership, the company has become one of the most profitable companies in India in terms of revenue. Recently in 2019, Reliance became the first Indian company to cross the ₹ 9 lakh crore market valuation mark.

- Reliance became the first Indian company to cross $100 billion market capitalization in 2007.
- It is ranked in 106th position in Fortune Global 500 list of the world’s biggest corporations.
- Reliance is one of the largest exporter of India that supply products across 108 countries.
- Total 5% of the government revenue is generated by Reliance.
- Reliance became the first-ever private company to discover gas at the Krishna Godavari basin in 2002.
- The company won the “National Energy Conservation Award” from 1994 to 1997 in the petrochemical sector.
- Reliance was certified as the ‘Responsible Care Company’ by the American Chemistry Council in 2012.

About the Reliance Logo:

The company was founded by Late Dhirubhai Ambani in 1973 and continue to use its first logo but keeps on updating it from time to time.
The logo was designed by Mr Vitthal Varia founder of Varia DDesign Institute, Ahemdabad based company.

The wordmark of the company was written below the symbol and the symbol is the combination of “R” alphabet and shadow of the flame. The company launched the green colour logo in 1985 and used it until 2001.

Current logo:

The current logo was launched in 2001 by the company. A golden colour symbol was used and the font style was changed. It is owned by Mayur Rajpal for Reliance Industries Limited.
