Vodafone is a British multinational telecommunications conglomerate with headquarters in London and Newbury, Berkshire. It provides services in various regions of Europe, Asia and Africa. Vodafone was formed under the brand ‘Racal telecommunications’ and as was launched in January 1985 under the name ‘Racal Vodafone Holdings Ltd.’ Vodafone stands for Voice, Data and Phone.

Evolution of Logo Design:

1) First Logo:
.
The logo included “Voda” in-between of Racal and Telecommunication. It was in the year 1985 when the company was launched by the name Vodafone. Prior to this, the company was known as Racal. This logo was used until 1990.

2) Second Logo:
.
The logo was used from 1991 to 1996. The white line dividing each letter into two parts gave the wordmark a very distinctive look.

3) Third Logo:
.
The new design of the Vodafone logo, which was adopted in 1997, featured a white-and-red speech mark placed inside a shape resembling a SIM card.

4) Fourth Logo:
.
Vodafone updated its logo for the fourth time in 2006. In this new logo, the colour was different and the outline shape of the sim card was removed.

5) Fifth Logo:
.
In 2017, the company again updated its logo design and it is currently using it.
